How to care for your handmade lampshade.

Safety

• All lampshades are made from yarn that complies with UK & EU fire safety regulations. They have also have been fireproofed on finishing with a fire retardant spray.

Lightbulbs

• I always recommend to use LED bulbs only. These are low wattage bulbs that are a much more energy efficient. They also produce a very low heat output so to not accidentally damage your lampshade.

• For candle clip lampshades please use a LED candle bulb.

Positioning

• Keep your shade out of direct sunlight to avoid sun damage

• If you plan to use your shades in a bathroom please avoid exposing them too closely to steam or condensation.

• Lampshades are not waterproof so are not suitable for outdoor use.

Cleaning and Care

• When cleaning please remove shade from base or fixture and gently brush with a lint roller, clean dry cloth or feather duster to keep dust free.

• Please be mindful not to clean with any water or detergents as they could leave a mark.
